Puff puff (or poff poff) are sweet, pillowy fried dough balls found across West Africa. Perfect with tea, as street food, or at celebrations.
Mix flour, sugar, yeast, nutmeg. Add water, mix to smooth batter.
Cover, let rise 1 hour until bubbly.
Heat oil to 350°F. Drop tablespoonfuls of batter into oil.
Fry until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
Serve warm. Can dust with powdered sugar.
